Ahhhh....Fall and Reading!!!

It has been a crazy couple of months.  I started this blog with full intentions of being crazy active with it.  Unfortunately, life happened.  Kids, jobs, all got crazy busy and I did not seem to have any free time!  But I am back and plan to be a huge ton more active.  I always seem to read more during the fall and winter!
And with that being said, I am currently in the middle of reading an awesome book that has suspense and humor and action.  There is even some romance thrown in.  I will be reviewing it within the next couple of days so keep checking back for an update.

Damon (The Protectors Series) Book #1 by Teresa Gabelman

This book started out strong and continued on strong. It has a lot of action while not being overpowering on the action. I liked that the main female character was strong and not a wimp or whiny. Surprisingly, while the male lead character Damon was strong and down right sexy, I was actually rooting for Nichole to go with a secondary character Jared. The romance of the book was actually nice and not overpowering and did not leave you feeling like it was fake. I felt that the author has a good writing style. She was descriptive by not overly so. This was yet another book that I did not have to skip through to avoid boredom and did not have to go back to remind myself what someone looked like or who they were. The only real complaint I had was that the end of the book seemed a little rushed. I think the author could have extended the ending a bit and it would have flowed better. But other than that a GREAT book I would definitely recommend to read! I look forward to reading the next boo…

Blood Mate (Project Rebellion Book 2) by Mina Carter

Who Boy!!! Sits Here Fanning Herself!

After reading and loving Ms Carter's first book in this series Perfect Mate, I was VERY excited to read this second book in the series Blood Mate. Man, it was definitely worth the wait!! This book carries on from the first one with Darce and Toni. Darce is a werewolf and Antonia (toni) is a Blood (Vampire). It was VERY gripping. I loved that this book had tons of action and suspense. It made me sit on the edge of my seat through most of it. I love those kinds of books! It also had a lot of romance. Now the romance was intense to an extent but surprisingly it was not overwhelming. There were many times you would get one or the other's thoughts on the relationship but due to the story, it and find out!! I don't want to give out spoilers. Just know that it is not an erotica type book which is nice. I think overall this book was more about the action and suspense than it was about the romance. I like that about this series. The…

Gravity (Mageri Series Book 4) by Dannika Dark

I found Dannika Dark by doing searches through Amazon when I got my Kindle years ago. It was a bit different of a story than I usually read but figured I would try it. I have to say I am glad I did. I have read all books in this series and I have to say Gravity has been the best so far! It is gripping, emotional, and at times you want to jump up and down in your chair pumping your fist and screaming WHOOO HOOO!! At others you want to grab those tissues and ball your eyes out! There was not a moment in this book where I skipped through due to non ending detail or non gripping reading. She keeps you glued into the book at every page turn and you just don't want to put it down. This book answers a some questions from the previous 3 books in the series so be sure to read all the previous books first! Way to go Dannika and I am anxiously waiting the next book in the series!!

Blaize and the Maven by Ellen Bard

I started this book with high hopes that I would love it. I have to say I did not totally love it but it was a good book anyway. There were times when it was slow and others that it almost went too fast. I feel the author could have expanded some of the scenes especially the action type scenes. Just when you were getting to a good part, the author would rush through it and be on to more building of the characters or scene.

With that being said it was still a good book I would have read whether I was asked to or not. I am not sure if I would reread it but it was still worth it to read it the first time. And I believe I will try reading the second one in the series. It did still leave me wanting to know what is going to happen next. I just wish it was a bit more balanced of a book. A little less world building and a little more action and romance.

I honestly was not expecting a great book when I began reading this book. However, within a few pages I was definitely surprised. This ended up being a very well written exciting book. It is very suspenseful, which I love in a book. When I began reading it I had…

Full Moon Rising: A Riley Jenson Guardian Novel by Keri Arthur

I must admit I downloaded the sample for this book and then took over a year to build up to read it. I liked the description of the book when I first downloaded the sample, but as I would read the description to determine if I wanted to read the book, it kept sounding weird. I finally decided to just read it and get it over with.

WOW!!! I am mad I waited so long to read it. I have to say that Keri Arthur is a very good author. This book managed to have a bit of everything. I was amazed at the action that was included in this book. Many times I read an action book and the writing is not as descriptive as it should be. However, with this book, I was able to picture the action so that it was like a little movie in my head! And the romance…WOW…it did not quite end up the way I was expecting in the end, but it definitely leaves the romance open for future books. But I have to say it was DEFINITELY HOT!! There is some mystery too that leads into the next book in the series. I love when they…
